Alan Poulton Memorial, Ludlow.
Nick was very flattered to organise and install a memorial to the late Alan Poulton MBE next to the Temeside Weir in Ludlow.
Alan was a man who gave up much of his time to ensure that the Teme weirs and nearby Whitcliff areas were cared for and conserved through work by himself, family and other great volunteers. His vision and work is being continued and a credit to all those still involved.
In memory of Alan, a memorial stone in the form of a 2 tonne boulder has been installed alongside the river at Ludford in Ludlow. Upon it is a stainless steel plaque, engraved to the memory of Alan, so that he may be permanently at a place he loved.
Nick organised the acquisition and placement of the boulder that was kindly donated by the Quarry on the nearby Titterstone Clee hill. Further generosity was provided by the area of land donated, transportation and placement of the stone and the use of tooling to mount the plaque that was designed and installed by Nick.
It was a beautiful night for the Super moon and lunar eclipse. Nick stayed up and was able to watch and capture the event.
“The moonlight prior to the eclipse was amazing. You could have happily walked miles bathed in the light and see all the detail around you. With an extended exposure, I was able to create daylight and yet watch the stars. Ursa Major looked wonderful. I feel very lucky to witness and share the event.”
